Roulette Betting: Inside and Outside

Are you new to the world of roulette? Do you fill confused with the layout, the wheel and how to bet? Then, don't be confused anymore. Here are some of the roulette bets you can use in your next session: In roulette, you can make an outside bet or an inside bet. An outside bet is done using the outside part of the roulette table layout, while the inside bet is made using the inside area.

Here are examples of outside bets:

Low or High - this is another simple roulette bet. A low bet means betting on the lower numbers, which are one to 18, while the high bet is betting on the higher numbers, ranging from 19 to 36. There are appropriate squares on the layout where you can place your low bet or high bet. Just find the squares that have the number ranges written on them. This bet is paid 1 to 1.

Columns - there are different columns at the roulette table layout. Betting on any of them is a columns bet, and if you will, you are paid 2 to 1. Low or High Bet may give you a higher chance of winning, but it pays cheaper. On the other hand, when you bet columns, and you win, you will be paid more compared to when you make a low or high bet.

Dozens - if you want to win bigger, you may also want to try the dozens bet. The Dozens bet also pays the winner 2 to 1, just like the columns bet. Here, the numbers are grouped by the dozen. Place your bets on any of the squares labeled 1st 12, 2nd 12, and 3rd 12.

Here are the some of the inside bets:

Straight-up bet - this is the simplest bet in roulette. All you have to do is bet on a single number by placing your chips on one number on the layout. This bet pays highly - 35 to 1, since it is very difficult to win with this kind of bet.

Split bet - this is a slight modification of the previous one. Instead of a single number, you will now bet on two numbers. But, you can only do that on the numbers that are next to each other on the roulette table layout. The Split Bet also pays highly, but not as much as the straight-up, since split bet has a higher chance of winning. In fact, from a payout of 35 to 1, it drops to 17 to 1.

Split bet - you can place a single bet on two different numbers if those numbers are beside each other on the table layout. To do so put your chips down on the line between them. This bet pays 17 to 1 if either of those numbers comes up.

Corner bet - this is a bet on four numbers which are connected to one another on the roulette table layout. To make this bet, you must place your chips at the point which all of those numbers meet.
